Foundry Specialised in Cast Iron Castings

The foundry's production is specialised in cast iron processing for the mechanical industry. The melting department produces castings in cast iron using continuous casting or shell moulding, suitable for every industrial and manufacturing application. A foundry specialised in cast iron with high-quality processing.

The melting department relies on highly performant machinery: the heat treatment uses two induction furnaces, one with a capacity of 5 tonnes and the other 15 tonnes. The cast iron melting department operates with a production capacity of 4000 tonnes/year.

Cast Iron Bars

The foundry produces cast iron bars using the continuous casting technique to ensure maximum structural strength of the product, with the absence of imperfections and porosity that could compromise the structure. The precision and high quality of the bars can replace the use of steel in many applications.

The different types of bars produced are suitable for various applications: round, square, rectangular, and holed.

The Cast Iron Casting Process

The cast iron casting process allows for the production of castings in various types of cast iron, depending on the casting process, adapting to different application contexts, both industrial and non-industrial. The processing of cast iron always occurs at high temperatures, up to 2000 degrees.

The moulding and casting techniques have evolved over time, enabling the production of cast irons with different characteristics. Today, the two most widely used cast irons in foundry processes are shell mould cast iron and continuous cast iron.

Types of Cast Iron Produced

Flake cast iron, or grey cast iron, is widely used for its mechanical qualities of resistance and its resistance to material wear.

Spheroidal cast iron is the modern standard in foundry processes, being more ductile with an excellent weight-to-strength ratio.
